Forest of Death is a Hong Kong supernatural thriller directed by Danny Pang, who is also credited as co-writer. In this film, detective C. C. Ha (Shu Qui) is investigating a brutal rape and murder committed within the famous Forest of Death, a forest with a sinister reputation for attracting suicides from around the world. Reaching a roadblock in the investigation with main suspect Patrick Wong (Lawrence Chou), Ha seeks out botanist Shum Shu-Hoi (Ekin Cheng) who has a radical theory on a means of communicating with plants and the potential of using them as eyewitnesses in investigations. As the two try to recreate the scene of the crime and utilize the local plants as lie detectors, the forest seeks to claim another victim, Shum's own girlfriend May (Rain Li), a sensationalist television reporter known for exploiting the forest's tragedies for her own personal gain. As the two desperately seek to save May and unravel the forest's mysteries, it slowly dawns that the forest is seeking to claim them both as victims.moreless
