Forever, Lulu is a film that follows the strange and surprising turns of Elaine Hines' (Hanna Schygulla) less than perfect life. Despite her aspirations to become a writer, Elaine is stuck in a day job cleaning toilets. Elaine's luck seems to take a turn for the worse when she's fired from her job for being late and subsequently gets evicted from her apartment, yet all may not be lost. After meeting a spunky woman named Lulu (Deborah Harry), Elaine is inspired to write a best-selling novel that brings her unexpected riches. Unfortunately, Elaine also finds herself accidentally mixed up in drugs, murder, robbery, and two money-filled suitcases. With the mafia hot on her trail, will Elaine ever track down Lulu and escape from the chaos that seems to be following her? Forever, Lulu is a screwball comedy that chronicles the unlikely friendship of two outrageous women on the dangerous streets of New York City.
