Forever Young is a 1992 drama about a test pilot who is involved in an experiment that transports him into the future. In 1939, pilot Daniel McCormick (Mel Gibson) is leading a happy life with his girlfriend, Helen (Isabel Glasser). His life is turned upside down, however, when Helen is badly injured in an accident and slips into a coma. Despondent at her fatal diagnosis, McCormick volunteers for an experiment that will put him into a state of suspended animation for a year and allow him to avoid the sadness of her approaching death. The experiment goes wrong, however, and McCormick doesn't wake up until more than fifty years later. Because the experiment was secret, no one knows who McCormick is, and he is dismissed as a crackpot by the military. As his body begins to betray him, McCormick is desperate to find answers. Will he ever learn what happened to him and to Helen, and will he ever find a way to live in a suddenly unfamiliar world?
