Fort Dodge Stampede is one of the thirty-two western films made that star Sheriff Rocky Lane (Allan Lane) and his trusted horse Black Jack. In this 1951 movie, a group of bank robbers, known as the Pike Gang, robbed the town's Adams Bank of $30,000. Sheriff Lane attempts to track the criminals down and receives a tip that the main henchmen of the group, Pike Hardin (Roy Barcroft), double-crossed his posse and hid the money in Fort Dodge, Nevada. Since this town is out of his jurisdiction, Sheriff Lane visits the ghost town pretending to be on vacation. While there he meets Skeeter Davis (Chubby Johnson), who owns the entire town, but the sheriff is confident that he does not know about the money. Trouble brews when the whole gang enters the town in a race to find the money. Sheriff Lane quickly designs a plan to find the money and capture the entire Pike Gang.
