Four Rooms intertwines four comical tales that take place at the Mon Signor Hotel on New Year's Eve. The story opens with an elderly bellhop (Marc Lawrence) instructing new employee Ted (Tim Roth) on his duties at this once glamorous but now shabby hotel. Ted's slapstick misadventures begin when he carries luggage up to the honeymoon suite, occupied by a coven of witches. Their bubbling magic potion requires one last ingredient: sperm. As the night rolls on, Ted gets mixed up in the various sordid affairs of other partying hotel guests. By delivering ice to the wrong room, he stumbles into a husband and wife hostage situation. When he gets out of that mess, he meets up with a Mexican gangster (Antonio Banderas) and foolishly agrees to babysit his two children. Each segment is written and directed by a different filmmaker, with the final story belonging to Quentin Tarantino, who also stars as a Hollywood hotshot who asks Ted to referee a bizarre contest involving a hatchet.
