Four Seasons Lodge is a 2009 documentary that chronicles the summer of a group of Holocaust survivors as they gather in the Catskill mountains to discuss life, love and loss. For decades, this meeting at the colonial bungalow called the Four Seasons Lodge has been a ritual of sorts for survivors to keep in touch and keep the memories of those lost fresh in their mind. As the years have gone by, the group has dwindled to the point where this may be the last summer most can make the trip. Directed by journalist Andrew Jacobs, viewers are able to witness the survivors cook, laugh and even flirt like old friends and lovers. As a backdrop, Jacobs interviews various attendees about their experience and finds that amidst unimaginable loss, these are people who have been able to find joy in their lives by sharing their stories and finding others who have helped them explore the power of friendship. Among the notable attendees include the last remaining member of the Borscht Belt crooners, a Jewish cabaret group well-known in the Catskills.moreless
