Fourth Protocol is a 1987 British Cold War-themed thriller starring Pierce Brosnan (Matador, James Bond series) and Michael Caine (Batman Begins, Bewitched). The film is based on a novel with the same title by Frederick Forsyth. John Mackenzie directs an electrifying film surrounding a wild goose chase between a British secret agent, John Preston (Michael Caine) and Russian KGB agent Major Valeri Petrofsky (Pierce Brosnan). The British secret service has enough reason to believe the KGB is planning to bomb the American military base in England with nuclear bombs. At the helm of this malicious scheme is the sly and cunning agent Petrofsky who suspiciously sets up camp right next to the military base. The British secret service notices his peculiar actions and demeanor. They decide to enlist MI5 agent Preston, a stealthy older man, to follow Petrofsky. Who will be the victor in this battle between East and West?
