Frankenhood is a 2009 horror comedy directed by Blaxwell Smart. The plot centers on a lazy pair of morgue employees. Darius (Jasper Redd) and Motown (DeRay Davis) hope to strike it rich by winning a street ball tournament. Enticed by the large cash prize offered to the winners, Darius and Motown will do almost anything to stack the odds in their favor. Days before the tournament, their buddy Franklin (Charles Q. Murphy) reanimates one of the morgue's corpses (Bob Sapp), the would-be streetballers decide to take advantage of the corpse's great height by training it to play ball. Darius and Motown are confident that their hoop-shooting zombie will be the ticket to the $25,000 grand prize. Frankenhood is packed with laughs and impressive practical effects, and has become a cult favorite among fans of lighthearted zombie films that are easy on the gore. The film also has a dedicated following among urban horror devotees.
