Frankie Starlight is a romantic drama based on the best-selling novel "The Dork of Cork." In the film, Frank Bois (Corban Walker) is a successful novelist nearing the end of his life and reminiscing about it. His mother, Bernadette (Anne Parillaud), was a French woman who hid aboard an Allied war ship after the death of all her friends and family during World War II. She stayed hidden aboard the ship by exchanging sexual favors with the soldiers on the ship for silence. Bernadette is allowed to enter Ireland due to the kindness of customs agent Jack Kelly (Gabriel Byrne). She soon gives birth to Frankie, who suffers from the rare condition of dwarfism. As he grows up, Frankie begins to develop romantic feelings for Jack's daughter Emma (Georgina Cates). Emma, however, does not return Frankie's feelings. After Frankie's mother meets an American soldier that was also aboard the ship that she had previously stowed away on, she and her son move to America, where their true adventure begins.moreless
