Fraulein, a movie filmed on location and based on a novel by James McGowan, tells the story of a German girl, Dana Wynter (Erika Angermann) who wakes up to find her family being murdered in a WW2 air raid. Not knowing which way to turn, Dana is offered help from an American officer Mel Ferrer (Foster MacLain) in return for helping him escape the Gestapo. They must now figure out a way to elude the Russian Army captors, headed by Theodore Bikel (Dmitri) while trying to stay alive. As Dana migrates to the American section of Berlin, she decides to register as a prostitute to spy on the captors. Living this lifestyle, Dana is introduced to a daunting series of tribulations which has her question her own mindstate. German officer Helmut Dantine (Hugo) lusts after Dana because of what he thinks she is, while American officer Ferrer loves her because he knows deep down that she's not what she's supposed to be.moreless
