From a Whisper to a Scream is a 1987 anthology horror film directed by Jeff Burr. It is the eve of his murderer niece's execution and historian Julian White (played by the legendary Vincent Price) tells four scary stories to a reporter about the town of Oldfield Tennessee. In the first story an elderly man (played by Clu Gulager) pursues a romantic relationship with a younger woman, even from beyond the grave. In the second a wounded man named Jesse Hardwicke (played by Terry Kiser) is running from creditors gets pursued by a backwoods hermit who has the secret to eternal life. In the third a carny named Steve Arden (played by Ron Brooks) is a glass eater who pays a huge price for looking for love outside of the carnival. And in the fourth tale Civil War soldiers get held captive by a house full of orphans with strange intentions...
