Funny Face is a musical romantic comedy released in 1957. The publisher of Quality fashion magazine, Maggie Prescott (Kay Thompson), is looking for a new face that exudes beauty and intelligence. She and her ace photographer, Dick Avery (Fred Astaire), head to a small book store in Greenwich Village and find Jo Stockton (Audrey Hepburn). Jo has no patience or respect for the world of fashion, but wishes to go to Paris in order to meet the philosopher Emile Flostre's (Michel Auclair). She reluctantly agrees to model for Quality as long as she can go to Paris and meet Professor Flostre. Jo and Dick begin to fall in love as they learn more about one another and begin to break down preconceived notions about each other's lifestyles. Jo attends a party at Flostre's home and Maggie and Dick sneak in to get Jo. They are kicked out after accidentally knocking out Flostre. When Flostre awakens, he comes on to Jo and she is appalled. Jo does the fashion show as Dick leaves Paris. They are both left thinking about each other and whether or not they should reunite.moreless
