Funny Games is a 2008 psychological thriller directed by Austrian cinematographer Michael Haneke. It is a remake of a 1997 film of the same name. On the day that the Farber family arrives at their secluded vacation home, two young strangers, Peter (Brady Corbet) and Paul (Michael Pitt), come to their front door and ask for some eggs. When Ann Farber (Naomi Watts) and her husband George (Tim Roth) order them to leave without the eggs, the teens suddenly take the couple and their young son Georgie (Devon Gearhart) hostage. Without having any clear motive for what they are doing, Peter and Paul then subject the Farbers to a series of sadistic 'games' that will test their strength as a family and push the boundaries of human decency. When the psychopathic teens make a bet with the Farbers that they will not be alive by 9:00 A.M. the next morning, Ann, George, and Georgie must struggle to survive by any means possible.moreless
