Funny Girl is a musical film, released on September 19, 1968. The film is based on a novel by the same name. Set in New York City, Funny Girl follows the story of actress Fanny Brice (Barbara Streisand) and her relationship with gambler Nicky Arnstein. The film begins in the pre-World War II era and ends after the war has finished. In the beginning of the film, Fanny Brice is a teenager, aiming to become a comedian. After her first performance, she meets Nicky Arnstein. As Fanny becomes famous, her relationship with Nicky begins to flourish. Nicky marries Fanny after winning big during a poker game. They have a daughter and move to a big house. Nicky becomes involved in illegal activities and ends up being imprisoned. When Nicky is released, will Fanny take him back or has she had enough of his gambling issues? Funny Girl continues to be one of the classic films of all time.moreless
