Gabi on the Roof in July is a 2010 drama directed by Lawrence Michael Levine. In New York City, Sam (Lawrence Michael Levine) is a promising painter. He cannot really afford to live in the city, but he knows that he will get his big break in New York, and at 30 he worries he cannot take a chance by leaving. In between trying to attract the attention of important gallery owners, Sam amuses himself with various affairs, including a tumultuous relationship with Madeline (Brooke Bloom). His own struggle towards adulthood is interrupted by the appearance of Gabi (Sophia Takal), his 20-year-old sister. She is not yet worried about making a responsible life for herself and just wants to revel in the glamour of New York City. To Sam's annoyance, she immediately attracts attention from his male friends, including his immature and charismatic roommate Garrett (Louis Cancelmi). The two siblings try to come to terms with each other's decisions and encourage each other to get their lives in order.moreless
