Gadjo Dillo is about a man from France, Stephane (Romain Duris). The movie was written and directed by Tony Gatif and filmed in the small village of Cretulesti in Romania. Staphane comes to Romania on his travels to seek out the legendary Gypsy singer Nora Luca (Monika Juhasz Miczura). Staphane's father has recently passed away and Nora Luca was his favorite singer. In an effort to keeps his father's legacy alive, Staphane searches for this woman to record her music. After arriving in Romania, Stephane meets up with a wandering Gypsy named Isidor (Izador Serban). He believes this man will lead him to Nora Luca so he follows him to his village. Stephane ends up staying there for several months waiting to be taken to meet Nora. The other Gypsy's in the village do not like Stephane, but over time they build a relationship with him.
