Gene Autry Collection: Beyond the Purple Hills is a classic Gene Autry western about a man who is wrongly accused of murder. Autry is the sheriff of an old western town, with faithful horse Champion by his side. When a ruthless gang of bank robbers kill the town sheriff, (Harry Harvey), the humble Autry takes the job, hoping to stop crime once and for all. But when the honorable Judge Beaumont (Roy Gordon) is murdered, the townspeople are up in arms, and the barely sworn in sheriff has to get right on the case. His first order of business is to arrest the judge's out of control son (Hugh O'Brian), whom the townspeople have more or less already convicted of the crime. But Autry himself doesn't believe the young Beaumont kid did the deed, and initiates his own investigation to find the real killer. John English directs this shoot em up classic that has the singing cowboy right in the midst of the action.
