Gene Autry Collection: Guns and Guitars is an early Autry venture that has the singing cowboy working with his friend "Frog Millhouse" (Smiley Burnette) as members of a travelling medicine show that end up in a cattle war with cattle wrestlers. "Morgan" (J.P. McGowen) and "Connors" (Tom London) are two schemers who've cheaply purchased infected cows suffering with cattle fever. Though the cattle should be in quarantine, the two are caught driving the herd to the railroad. While stopping these criminals, the sheriff gets shot and Gene Autry is accused of the murder just as he's due to become the deputy sheriff. With a little help from the mayor's daughter, "Marjorie" (Dorothy Dix), Gene might be able to shake the murder charge and rid the town of the wrestlers before hitting the trail once again with the travelling medicine show. Singing and toe tapping abound in this fun Western film.
