Gene Autry Collection : Mexicali Rose is a Western movie directed by George Sherman in 1939. This movie takes its viewers to the beautiful locations of Mexico. The story of this movie revolves around a radio singer Gene Autry (Gene Autry). Life around him goes well, until he discovers that the sponsor of his show is a corrupt oil company, that has the dirty thoughts of cheating a children's orphanage on the Mexican border. This flares Gene up, and he, along with his friend Smiley Burnette (Frog Millhouse), whips out his gun against that ill-willed oil company and goes to the border. Gene Autry also sings in this movie. In this one hour entertaining movie, the viewers get entertained by Gene Autry's struggle against evil forces and his beautiful singing. The other cast includes Valdes (Noah Beery Sr.), Anita Loredo (Luana Walters), Padre Dominic (William Farnum) and Carruthers (William Royle) and others.
