Robin Hood of Texas is a 1947 musical western directed by Lesley Selander that stars the famous singing cowboy Gene Autry. The local bank has been robbed. Nearby Gene and his boys are singing. The chief finds them and arrests them, mistaking them for the actual robbers. Meanwhile the gang members escape. The chief lets Gene and his boys free, thinking that they might lead them to the others. One member of the robbing gang, Duke Mantel (played by James Cardwell), double-crosses the rest and takes the money. However he accidentally heads towards the dude ranch where Gene is at. The rest of the gang pursue Duke to take back the stolen money while Gene and the boys get trapped in a building. Can Gene get out and save the day? Sure he can, and he can sing as he does it! One of the songs in this film is Goin' Back to Texas.
