Gene Generation is a 2007 futuristic thriller, based on the graphic novel written by first time director Pearry Reginald Teo. In the future the process of manipulating DNA, also known as genetic manipulation, is common. One of the inventors of the process was Dr. Josephine Hayden (Faye Dunaway). She developed it to save lives, manipulating DNA at the gene level cures any kind of cancer or illness instantly. Eventually, the process falls into the hands of evil genetic manipulators who use it to hack into people's DNA and kill them. Michelle (Bai Ling) is a paid assassin who kills the genetic manipulators. Jackie (Perry Shan) is Michelle's younger brother, he's a small time criminal. Jackie breaks into an apartment looking for cash, instead he picks up the transponder that is the key to DNA manipulation. Jackie and Michelle soon find out that Jackie holds the key to the future. It's up to Michelle to return the transponder to the good side and get Jackie and herself out of the city forever.moreless
