Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is one of the premier screwball comedies of the 1950s directed by of our cinemas master filmmakers, the prolific Howard Hawks (To Have and Have Not, Only Angels Have Wings, Rio Bravo, The Big Sleep). Lorelei Lee (the legendary Marilyn Monroe, Some Like It Hot) and her friend Dorothy Shaw (The Outlaw, Fate Is the Hunter) are a pair of showgirls. Lorelei likes millionaires, and Dorothy likes kind men. They both resolve to go on a sojourn to Paris to marry a millionaire. When Lorelei and Dorothy take a transatlantic cruise to France, they meet Sir Francis Beekman (The Lady Eve, Monkey Business, Wilson) who is owner of a diamond mountain. Lorelei likes him, but he is a married man... So Lorelei decides that won't fly and becomes determined that she marry Gus (Tommy Noonan) because he is very rich.
