Gentlemen with Guns is part of P.R.C.'s series of 1940s B-Western serials featuring the character Billy Carson. In this entry, Billy Carson (Buster Crabbe) comes to the aid of a bearded toothless old coot named Fuzzy Q. Jones (Al St. John), who has recently inherited some valuable farmland. The trouble begins when Fuzzy refuses to sell his water rights to his neighbor, Jim McCallister (Steve Darrell). Desperate to have Fuzzy's land, McCallister and the corrupt Sherriff (Budd Buster) have Fuzzy framed for the murder of Slade (George Chesebro) -- even though Slade is very much alive and well. Making matters even worse, Mathilda Boggs (Patricia Knox), Fuzzy's greedy mail-order bride, abandons Fuzzy and sides with McCallister in the hopes of inheriting Fuzzy's estate after he is lynched for the murder. It's up to Billy to get Fuzzy out of this mess by stopping the disastrous wedding and clearing Fuzzy's good name by exposing McCallister's deceit.
