George A. Romero's Land of the Dead (Unrated) is the forth shocking and terrifying installment in his legendary zombie saga, picking up where it last left off in 1985 with Day of the Dead. Humans are outnumbered by zombies at least 400,000 to one and a last vestige of the hapless survivors resides in an unnamed, walled off city, all but lorded over by Kaufman, a rich businessman who rules over his domain of Fiddler's Green with an iron fist, sending only small elite bands out into the surrounding towns to scavenge for supplies. The leader, Riley (Simon Baker, The Mentalist), takes groups out with the aid of a huge armored personnel type-carrier called Dead Reckoning ' perfect for reducing zombies to road kill. What the glorified garbage man is getting tired of living under Kaufman's thumb and seeks lodgings away from not only zombies but greedy people as well and is laying plans for hauling out of the besieged cityscape. But when, his second in command Cholo (John Leguizamo) steals Dead Reckoning and holds the city to ransom, Riley is forced by Kaufman to repossess the vehicle, before the increasingly smarter zombies storm the gates and make mincemeat out of the remaining survivors.
