Gerry Dee: No Reading Ahead Live in Concert is the quick-witted show from a teacher turned comedian, Gerry Dee. He talks about the experience of school both from his perspective as a student in his younger years and from his experience as a teacher during his adult life. Having starred on Comedy Central's Last Comic Standing and Live at Gotham, Dee has some time-tested material that leaves his audience in stitches. He offers commentary on his Scottish parents and their eccentricities and then recollects taking Karate lessons as a child. He goes through some of the most common sources of comedic material: dating and marriage. Still, Dee's funniest material is drawn from the schoolyard, and his remembrances of recess are hilarious. Here's a guy who decided that a few first graders who were a little over-confident needed to learn some humility by playing dodgeball with their teacher. Dee on film is just as good as Dee on stage, and this his best show.moreless
