Ghost Cat is a good natured movie about a family that moves into the home of a deceased old woman. Wes Merritt (Michael Ontkean) is broken hearted from the recent loss of his wife, so he and his daughter Natalie (Ellen Page) move to his late wife's New England hometown. While hunting for a house, they meet a nice old lady named Mrs. Ruth Ashboro, (Shirley Knight) who lives with her cat Margaret, and her shady nephew Boyd (Tom Barnett). It appears that Boyd has been embezzling money, and is trying to get it out of his aunt any way he can. After Ruth surprisingly passes, the grief stricken Margaret follows shortly thereafter, and Wes and Natalie move in her empty house. However, mysterious things begin to happen, and it seems more and more that Margaret is responsible for them. Realizing that Boyd is up to no good, Wes and Natalie try to figure out what he's scheming to do before it's too late, along with some help from an unexpected source. Don McBrearty directs this heartwarming tale of families all banding together.moreless
