Glitter is a 2001 drama film that focuses on Billie (Mariah Carey), who is taken from her drug addicted mother at the age of 10. She is put into foster care and raised in a tough neighborhood, but she always has the dream of becoming a singer. At the orphanage, she meets Roxanne (Tia Texada) and Louise (Da Brat), other orphans. Years later, Billie, Roxanne and Louise are working in a nightclub as dancers when they are approached by Timothy Walker (Terrence Howard), a record producer. He asks the girls to be back-up singers for the singer Sylk. At first, Billie refuses, saying she wants to become a singer on her own. But after persistent convincing from her friends, Billie agrees and the three sign contracts. DJ Dice (Max Beesley) hears Billie's voice and makes a shady deal with Timothy to get her out of her contract. DJ Dice helps Billie's career flourish and the two even fall in love, but he hides the truth about the deal. Does Billie find out about DJ Dice's deception? Find out by watching Glitter.moreless
