Go for Zucker is a comedy that does not apologize for its Jewishness or lack of political correctness. Jaeckie Zucker (Henry Hubchen) is a former sportscaster turned pool hustler, who finds himself on the edge of ruin - up to his ears in debt, facing jail time and on the edge of divorce. Suddenly he gets word that his mother has died, leaving him an inheritance. There's only one catch, he must reconcile with his long estranged brother, Samuel (Udo Samel). Hijinks ensue when Samuel's family comes to visit for a week to observe the Shivah, a formal period of mourning. The secular Jaeckie and his non-Jewish wife, Marlene (Hannelore Elsner), must try to pass as observant Jews to win over Samuel and his family. All the while Jaeckie is trying to prepare for a high-stakes pool tournament that could change everything. Directed by Dani Levy, this German comedy won numerous awards and critical acclaim.
