Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidora: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack is a 2001 Japanese monster film and the 25th installment of the Godzilla series. This film stands as a direct sequel to the original 1954 Godzilla film. The story takes place in 2001, nearly fifty years after Godzilla destroyed Tokyo. Tokyo hasn't experience another attack since then. However, reports of a monster attack on New York City as well as evidence that other deadly monsters exist on Earth has compelled Japan to prepare for the worst. Chiharu Niiyama plays Yuri Tachibana, a young filmmaker who must summon three long-dormant Guardian Monsters after witnessing a prophecy of Godzilla's return. As Godzilla nears, the Guardians awake and prepare for battle. Baragon is a subterranean dinosaur similar to Godzilla. Mothra is a giant insect with divine powers who sympathizes with the humans. Lastly, King Ghidora is a powerful three-headed dragon with devastating energy attacks. The Guardians are all great monsters, but are they strong enough to defeat Earth's greatest threat? Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidora is a celebrated installment in the Godzilla series that earned some of the best reviews ever given to Japanese monster films.moreless
