Godzilla vs. Mothra is a 1992 monster film and the 19th installment in the Godzilla series. This film marks the sixth appearance of Mothra, the powerful monster-moth who sympathizes with the humans she shares a planet with. In previous Godzilla films, Mothra has protected humans from planetary threats. She causes destruction only when it's unavoidable. In this film, she faces her greatest challenge yet. A meteor has crashed into the Pacific ocean. The impact has caused terrible natural disasters to wreak havoc on Japanese coastal cities. Even worse, the meteor has awakened Godzilla, the mutant dinosaur who has destroyed whole cities in his past appearances. Meanwhile, the brilliant but rebellious Takuya Fujita has been thrown in jail for theft. He makes a deal with the Japanese Prime Minister to go on a dangerous exploration mission in exchange for his freedom. While exploring, he learns about the evil moth monster, Battra, who has re-awakened to finish a fight it began with Mothra centuries earlier. As the humans scramble to prepare for the showdown, Mothra appears to defend Earth from both the terrifying Godzilla and her own evil twin, Battra. Godzilla vs. Mothra is a thrilling action film, starring Tetsuya Bessho and Satomi Kobayashi.moreless
