Going Berserk is a classic American comedy that tells the story of a chauffeur named John Bourgignon (John Candy) and his misadventures in finding love. John falls in love with a woman named Nancy Reese (Alley Mills) and the two quickly get engaged. Nancy's father, the power-hungry Senator, Edward Reece (Pat Hingle), disapproves. He is setting up a platform to run for President of the United States and feels like the marriage will ruin his family's status in the eyes of the voters. Through the help of his friend, Sal DiPasquale (Eugene Levy), John blackmails Edward into allowing him to marry Nancy. Before the wedding, he manages to get into trouble with a gang of bikers, gets handcuffed to a dead man and brainwashed by a religious cult, who want to assassinate Edward. If he still wants to get married and live happily ever after, John must pull himself together in time for the altar and try not to kill Edward in the process.moreless
