Following the death of her husband in a car accident that left her injured, Misty Reynolds (Sharon Graves), struggles to recover both physically and emotionally from her situation, often using the bottle as a crutch. Her three grown step-children, Betsy (Rosie Sowa), Marge (Kelly Cardall), and Billy (Johnny Alonso), all provide their own individual strains and impediments to her recovery. Billy goes so far as to plant a spy in Misty's house in the guise of helper Sylvia (Tiffany Ariany).Vague threats of Blackmail have even been made anonymously, leaving Misty to wonder who among the false smiles is out to get her and reveal her greatest secret. Misty is not without support though. Her close friend, Father Gary (Michael Russell), continues to check in on her and help focus her away from her depression.
