Grey Knight is a 1993 film set in the time of the Civil War in which heroic marauders are fighting against slavery. The movie stars Billy Bob Thornton, Martins Sheen, and David Arquette. A group of Confederate runaways have somehow released an angry spirit through the practice of voodoo. The government sends in a Union soldier, Col. Nehemiah Strayn (Corbin Bernsen), to investigate when reports come of a number of crucifixions of soldiers. The only witness is a young slave girl (Cynda Williams) who has been left mute. Strayn calls on the help of his old coach and mentor to join in his investigation. As they explore, they discover that the band of mercenaries have achieved immortality through an African curse. The spirit has taken possession of the body of dead soldiers and is now amassing an army of its own. However, there are certain elements that seem to ward off these undead beings, and Strayn decides to take on the army himself.moreless
