Gridlock'd is a 1997 action comedy produced by Polygram Filmed Entertainment and released by Gramercy Pictures. A modern day adventure, the film takes viewers on a ride that feels like trying to kick a drug habit like the two heroes. Story concerns two heroin addicts who live together with the drug addict girlfriend of Tim Roth's character Stretch. When she passes out on New Year's Eve from an overdose, her flat mates run into beaurocracy from the healthcare system (including a very funny scene where co-star Tupac Shakur's character Spoon tells the 911 operator that there is a black rebellion underway in which white people have been injured in the hope that they will send help faster). When they try to get free detox they are sent from office to office and met with red tape along the way. Along with that they discover their drug dealer friend shot dead in his apartment and proceed to make off with his drugs, becoming murder suspects in the process. They are also hunted by the men who killed their friend for scamming and beating him up in a previous incident.moreless
