Gun Shy is 2000 crime drama about an undercover cop trying hard to get out of the game. The film follows the story of cop Charlie Mayeaux (Liam Neeson) who is an ongoing deep cover officer looking to bust a crime ring that involves drugs, money laundering, the mob, and Columbian cartel. It's only when his partner is brutally killed on the job that he can't stomach the job anymore. Hell-bent on completing the case, his bosses, Lonny Ward (Louis Giambalvo) and Dexter Helvenshaw (Mitch Pileggi), don't allow Charlie to retire early to his dreams of ocean views. Instead they send him right back to the streets of New York City. On the way, Charlie develops gastrointestinal problems that only seem to get worse as stressful situations arise. Amidst solving the case, Charlie enlists the help of a psychiatrist, Dr. Jeff Bleckner (Michael Mantell), as well as the aide of the beautiful doctor Judy Tipp (Sandra Bullock), to help him with both his mental and physical state. Tipp acts as a romantic interest and the psychiatrist helps him face the realities of his partners death and ultimately bring his case to a close. The film was directed and written by Eric Blakeney.moreless
