Gunfight at the O.K. Corral is the popular 1957 Western from acclaimed journeyman action director John Sturges (The Great Escape, The Magnificent Seven, Ice Station Zebra, The Old Man and the Sea, Joe Kidd). Marshal Wyatt Earp (Burt Lancaster, Sweet Smell of Success) has had a long career as a lawman ridding towns of many thugs, including Ed Bailey (Lee Van Cleef, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly), and he quits to join his brothers Morgan (DeForest Kelley) and Virgil (John Hudson) in Tombstone, Arizona. Soon after arriving with his friend John 'Doc' Holliday (Kirk Douglas, Spartacus, Paths of Glory), a feud begins with the Clantons: Ike (Lyle Bettger) and Billy (Dennis Hopper) and a few other gun men, cattle thieves and thugs come into town. A showdown becomes inevitable with Earp and a terminally-ill Holliday going against the Clantons and their gang, Wyatt's love interest isn't very happy with it, but the gunfight has to come to an end.moreless
