Gunmen of Abilene is a story of gold and greed in the Old West. In the film, Blue Valley town druggist Henry Turner (Peter Brocco) has discovered gold beneath the town and wants to recover all of it for himself. He hires a group of gunmen to help him. They arrive in town and rob supply wagons, burn houses, and kill leading citizens. The gang takes over the town with their leader, Brink Fallon (Roy Barcroft), posing as a Marshall sent to restore order. Instead, he makes things even easier for his gang in their quest to get the town's gold. However, Marshall Rocky Turner (Allan "Rocky" Lane) arrives in Blue Valley just in time. He attempts to set things straight and run the lawless gang out of town. Aided by Sherrif Nugget Clark (Eddy Waller), Lane uses fists, guns, and his mind to outgun and outwit his adversaries and save Blue Valley.
