Gypsy is a musical version of the life of stripper Gypsy Rose Lee that tells the bittersweet story about an aggressive stage mother and the effects of her devotion to her two young daughters (Natalie Wood, "West Side Story," and Ann Jillian, TV's "It's a Living"), as she vows to make each of them into the star that she never was. Great music and lyrics are provided by the team of Stephen Sondheim ("West Side Story," "Dick Tracy," "Sweet Charity") and Jule Styne ("Funny Girl").
