Half Light is a 2006 dramatic mystery horror directed by Craig Rosenberg. In the film, Rachel (Demi Moore) is a best-selling mystery novelist living in London with her book editor husband, Brian (Henry Ian Cusick), and their five-year-old son, Thomas (Beans El-Balawi). Although the couple is happy, there is some pressure on the relationship because of Rachel's success. Brian is jealous that Rachel writes books easily, and he struggles to have any work of his own published. One day while the busy parents are working at home, their son wanders outside alone and accidentally drowns in a nearby canal. Full of guilt and devastated by her loss, Rachel withdraws from the life she previously enjoyed, her career is stalled and her marriage is nearly over. With some encouragement from her best friend, Sharon Winton (Kate Isitt), Rachel leaves London and moves to a secluded cottage in Scotland. Rachel hopes to decompress and try to write again while she is there, but soon is haunted by memories from the past.moreless
