Hamlet is the PBS adaptation of the great classic Shakespearean tragedy directed by and starring the renowned versatile actor Kevin Kline as the infamous melancholy Dane Hamlet, and is now available on Netflix. Hamlet, the young prince of Denmark, returns home from university for his dear father's funeral, only to find that his mother has remarried so quickly to his uncle Claudius. Driven to madness with suspicions of foul-play and the haunting of his father's ghostly accusations, Hamlet quietly devises a plan to expose Claudius as the murderer and get his revenge. He stages a play where his players reenact the strange execution of a king that closely mimics the death of his father. When Claudius reacts, Hamlet knows the truth. It is up to Hamlet to avenge his fathers death, take the crown back to its rightful owner, and save his sanity. This modernized version of one of Shakespeare's greatest plays was recorded during the 1990 New York Shakespeare Festivalmoreless
