Hammer Down is a 1992 crime drama written by Simon Abbott and directed by James Shavick. The film was produced by Marc E. Spiegel. Veteran Los Angeles homicide detective Eddie Can Owen (Tony Peck) and his young partner Johny Marks' (Matt Almond) investigation into a series of murders leads in unexpected directions. When a shifty music producer becomes the main suspect for the murder of a dancer the music world explodes into scandal. Soon the two detectives discover a link to a local street gang. The duo must find enough evidence to link the gang to a heinous series of murders before more women die. Can the pair overcome homicidal street thugs and a music industry all too willing to use and abandon young women? Or might big money and the apathetic city come out on top? Hammer Down also features, Shelby Gregory, John Ireland, James Lem, Isabelle Mejias, Steve Pacini, Rachel Walke.
