Hanged on a Twisted Cross: The Life, Convictions and Martyrdom of Dietrich Bonhoeffer is a movie about the biblical theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer (Mike Farrell). Narrated by Ed Asner, the documentary takes you through the life, times, thoughts, and death of Bonhoeffer. As a member of the church, Bonhoeffer was a follower to God, but he also had a deep loyalty to his home country of Germany. Put in a hard situation, Bonhoeffer had to choose if working with the Nazi Party was morally right. He ended up condemning their actions leading to his execution just days before the end of the war. Go inside Bonhoeffer's head with rare archival footage, documents and film of original locations of where Bonhoeffer lived and worked. The documentary presents relevant questions today, such as how a peaceful man can allow the use of violence to combat evil. T.N. Mohan directs this 1996 historically fascinating film.
