Movie Summary

David Slade
Hard Candy is the claustrophobic debut psychological thriller from director David Slade (30 Days of Night) and writer Brian Nelson (30 Days of Night, Devil). Breakout star Ellen Page (Juno, Inception) stars as 14 year old Haley, a kid with an intelligence way beyond her years, who meets successful fashion photographer Jeff (Patrick Wilson, Phantom of the Opera, Little Children, The A Team) in a coffee shop after having spent a brief time chatting online. It seems there is a mutual attraction brewing which has finally resulted in this impromptu meet and greet. It seems Jeff has seduction on his mind as the flirtation builds and Jeff coerces Haley into accompanying him to his home to hear a bootleg recording of a concert ' and Haley it seems is eager to do so. But when Jeff loses consciousness after a round of drinks, he wakes up to a nightmare: tied up and held hostage by a cunning nymphet seeking to punish apparent pedophile Jeff for his part in the kidnapping of one of Haley's young classmates.moreless
