Hard Rain is an exciting crime thriller from director Mikael Salomon, known for his earlier work on The Abyss and Backdraft. In a small Indiana town, heavy rain has caused the river to rise well above flood levels. The residents are evacuated, leaving behind only the police force and essential personnel. Tom (Christian Slater) and his Uncle Charlie (Edward Asner) are considered the latter as employees of an armored truck service. They are tasked with transporting the money from the town's banks to a safe location out of the flood zone. With almost three million dollars in the back, their truck gets stuck in the flooding. Jim (Morgan Freeman), a wily old thief, needs no further temptation and tries to steal the money. Tom manages to get away with the money and, with nowhere to run, holes up in an old church. Tom finds himself in suspicion of the robbery and, between Jim and the local sheriff, the rising flood is the least of his worries.moreless
