Hardware is a post-apocalyptic action film from director Richard Stanley. Much of the world has been reduced to vast plains of radioactive waste and nomadic scavengers wander the Earth. When one such nomad discovers the remains of a cyborg, he finds a buyer in Moses Baxter (Dylan McDermott) who wants the android scraps for his girlfriend, Jill (Stacey Travis). Jill makes ends meet by creating reclaimed art and is ecstatic at Moses' find when he delivers the robot parts to her apartment. The two begin to sort through the parts when Moses gets a call from his friend Alvy (Mark Northover), a specialist in postwar junk. Moses heads over to Alvy's junkyard to find out that the robot is a M.A.R.K.-13 combat android. The M.A.R.K.-13 has a special ability that allows it to reconstruct itself after it has been damaged if it has access to a sufficient power supply. Unfortunately for Jill, her high-tech apartment building is more than sufficient. Moses has to hurry if he is going to stop the android from carrying out its programming: to search and destroy all living things.
