Harvard Man is a 2001 comedy crime drama released by Lionsgate written and directed by James Toback . The film features Adrian Grenier as a Harvard University basketball player in money trouble who is conned by his shady girlfriend (Sarah Michelle Gellar) to throw a basketball game for money. Add in subplots about the mob, a couple of shaddy FBI agents and a bizarre drug trip segment and you have another surreal Toback stew. Also starring Rebecca Gayheart.
