Head Over Heels is a 2001 romantic comedy film that centers on painting conservator Amanda Pierce (Monica Potter). Amanda has recently moved into an apartment with her friends across the hall from Jim Winston (Freddy Prinze Jr.), the man she likes. Jim seems perfect, so Amanda begins to spy on him, trying to find a flaw he may have. During one of her spying sessions, Amanda believes that she witnesses Jim kill a woman named Megan O'Brien (Tanja Reichert). When the police arrive, no evidence of a murder is found, so they leave. Frustrated by the lack of help from the police, Amanda and her friends begin their own investigation. When Amanda discovers what she believes to be evidence of a murder, she confronts Jim. What she finds out is something she never would have expected. The truth about Jim's true identity leads Amanda and her friends to get involved in a series of sticky situations.

    Los Angeles Times Kevin Thomas

Although Head Over Heels moves swiftly, has an appealing cast and a serviceably diverting plot, it is nevertheless hard to fall head over heels over it.

    A mildly amusing trifle.

Exists in a realm beyond sense, and induces in the viewer a trancelike state, leaving the mind free to ponder the mysteries of the universe.
