Hear Me Good is a 1957 romantic comedy written and directed by Don McGuire. Fast talking con man Marty Holland (Hal March) is broke and desperately needs money, and he needs it fast. He hatches a plan to get rich by staging a rigged beauty pageant. Marty works to rig the contestant pool and bribe judges with the help of his goofball sidekick, Max Crane (Joe E. Ross). His plan to allow a gangster's girlfriend, Rita Hall (Jean Willes), to win, goes wildly off course when Marty falls for another contestant, the virtuous Ruth Collins (Merry Anders). Marty decides to turn honest and accept the wrath of the local mob boss. However, Marty complicates matters by repeatedly failing to keep straight. The result is chaotic hilarity as Marty tries to set things right, or at least come out in one piece. The film was noted at the time of production for being shot entirely in straight narrative continuity, a rarity at the time.moreless
