Heartland is a 2007 short dramatic film written and directed by Mark Christopher, which tells the story of a young gay man living in the big city who is forced to return to his rural home to rescue their family business. H.G. Gudmanson (Corey Sorenson) is more than happy with his exciting life in New York and rarely remembers his home in Iowa. However, when his father Thor (Marvin Naftal) tells him that their family endures severe financial hardship, H.G. has no choice but to return to Iowa and try to save their farm from destruction. His father also enlists the help of Ryan (Lachlan Neiboer) whose life is also full of unpleasant dramatic events. After the loss of both his parents, Ryan provides the only income for his brothers and sisters, and he must work wherever he can to put food on their table. A special bond forms between H.G. and Ryan during those long work days on the isolated farm.moreless
