Heavens Fall is a 2006 drama based on true events. In the racially charged atmosphere of 1930s Alabama, nine young black men found themselves suddenly facing public humiliation and the looming threat of execution. Clarence Norris (Larnell Stovall), Haywood Patterson (B.J. Britt), Willie Roberson (Artel Great) and Charlie Weems (Darryl Reeves) were among the black teenagers pulled off a train unexpectedly and accused of raping two young white women. Ruby Bates (Azura Skye) and Victoria Price (Leelee Sobieski) swore that the black teenagers found them in the train gondola and attacked them. The scandal sparked a national outrage, with tensions running high as the young men were brought to trial. Samuel Leibowitz (Timothy Hutton) came down from New York to act as the criminal defense attorney, taking on one of the most challenging and difficult trials of his career and trying to find the truth among the raging emotions and deceit that surrounded the case.
